This is where the magic starts to take shape. We’ll walk around the site with you, sketch out the flow, and create a setup that feels just right. We’ve done this too many times to count so we know how to plan for the space, the guest list, and the energy you want to create. The difference? This event is uniquely yours, and that’s what gets us excited.

Step 3: We set the scene


When the day arrives, you can breathe. We’ll be there ahead of time, putting all the details into place. We’re HIANZ-trained, NZ-certified, and quietly confident in the background. You just focus on the moment; we’ve got the rest.

Jenny

As Managing Director, Jenny has been steering Dobsons for years and still loves getting involved at the very beginning of event planning. She works alongside clients to unpack their ideas and guide them through what it takes to bring their vision to life. If there’s a way to make it happen, Jenny helps you find it. Her ability to turn ideas into reality made Dobsons what it is today.

Katherine Barlow

Katherine is our creative genius, crafting stunning bouquets, styling events, and transforming empty spaces into an event to remember. She's been with Dobsons for years, helping plan and set up all kinds of weddings, festivals, corporate events, parties, and more.

Sam Betteridge

Sam is the man behind every execution, whipping the team into action and making sure everything is where it should be.

FAQS


How far in advance should I book?

The earlier the better — especially in peak season (spring and summer). That said, we’ll always do our best to help, even with last-minute requests.

Do you only hire for weddings

Not at all! We work with all kinds of events — from birthdays, corporate functions, and funerals, to backyard get-togethers and community celebrations. If it’s worth celebrating, we’re in.

Can i change my order after my booking?

Yes, within reason. We understand plans evolve — just get in touch as soon as you can so we can make it work.

Do you deliver and set up

Absolutely. We can deliver, set up, and pack down, so you can focus on enjoying your day. Or, if you’d prefer to pick up and DIY, that’s fine too.

What if it rains on the day?

We’re big believers in having a Plan B. Our marquees and shelters can handle unpredictable weather, and we can work with you to adjust layouts if the forecast changes.

Do you do site visits?

Yes. For larger events, especially marquee setups, we recommend a site visit so we can measure, assess the space, and chat through the best options.
